SUMMARY
Valentine and Walker (1983) noted that a number of single specimens were collected in the western suburbs of Auckland city in 1963, 1971, 1972, 1975, but because of the infrequency of collection it was thought that these were just chance discoveries of recently arrived immigrants and that a population may not be established. The capture of many more specimens, at widely separated localities, during our Malaise trapping project (1979-1981), confirms that a single species is well established in the Auckland region.
